Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive Rob Jefferies is stepping down after two years of service at the top of the region’s peak business body.

Mr Jefferies role will end on April 30 after deciding to re-establish his consulting business.

Mr Jefferies said it had been a privilege to work with local businesses and, where appropriate, be their'''' voice on many issues and forums in the region.

“(I) plan to work in facilitation of business and industry growth, regional development and to undertake project development and management,” he said.

MWCCI president Trevor Lake said the role for the next chief executive would be moulded by Rob’s enthusiasm.

“His go, get and collaborative approach has certainly ensured that all parties who have Geraldton’s interests at heart will ensure that Geraldton and its business community benefit from this approach,” he said.

The Chamber will now begin searching for a new chief executive.
