Geraldton man Jordan Cross given spent conviction, six-month community order over 2020 petrol station attack

A Geraldton man has been given a spent conviction and placed on a six-month community-based order over a 2020 attack which left his victim hospitalised for a week. Jordan Cross appeared in Perth Magistrates Court via video link on Tuesday to be sentenced on charges of unlawful wounding and unlawfully causing a poison or other noxious thing to be administered to or taken by a person. The charges stem from a late-night incident at a Geraldton petrol station in September 2020 when Cross stabbed a man with his keys during an all-out brawl between three men. The 26-year-old man was also accused of pepper-spraying the victim. Magistrate Matthew Walton found Cross guilty in relation to the unlawful wounding, but he was acquitted of the poison charge. Cross was sentenced to a six-month community-based order with program and supervision requirements, given a spent conviction and ordered to pay legal costs of $4,200.
