Three Utakarra girls have been charged over a home burglary at Karloo after allegedly being caught spending the proceeds at a local shopping centre.

Police arrested two 12-year-olds and an 11-year-old allegedly in possession of some of the stolen items at Karloo yesterday about 2.30pm.

Officers were alerted to the presence of the group at Stirlings Central by security offices who allegedly witnessed them spending large sums of money.

The group left the centre in a taxi which dropped them in the Karloo area, where they were met by police.

Police allege the three girls stole a large sum of cash and jewellery from a Joel Court home on Wednesday.

An 11-year-old girl and one of the 12-year-old girls have been charged with two counts of aggravated burglary and two counts of stealing.

The second 12-year-old girl has been charged with one count of aggravated burglary and stealing.

A 15-year-old girl also in their company was arrested on warrants and charged with breaching bail.
