The Rotary Club of Geraldton Greenough has provided patients and families with a shaded place to enjoy the outdoors at Geraldton Hospital.

The club, in partnership with Geraldton Building Services and Cabinets, officially opened a new gazebo in the hospital’s central courtyard recently.

Rotary Club of Geraldton Greenough director of public relations Angelo Biviano said the club decided to build the new gazebo as part of its community projects program.

“We had learnt the staff and patients at the Geraldton Regional Hospital had nowhere to sit and enjoy the outdoors due to a lack of shade,” he said.

“We decided this was a fairly reasonable project for us to attempt.

“We provided the materials and painted the gazebo and GBSC provided free labour to put it all together.
