Competitors up for the challenge in 2022 Coral Coast Helicopter Services Kickstarter’s Gascoyne Dash

The 2022 Coral Coast Helicopter Services Kickstarter’s Gascoyne Dash was held over the weekend as bikes and cars went head to head in the red dirt of the Mid West. Competitors battled it out over 500km across the weekend between Carnarvon and Gascoyne Junction. It is described as one of the toughest challenges across some of the harshest and remote country in Australia. Jackson Mcgrath won the combined bike category in 4hr 18min 14sec with the fastest time of any vehicle to claim the King of the River title, Kaj Radcliffe was close behind in second sitting a further 2:49 back. Stephen Ketteridge-Hall won the outright combined car class in a time of 4:33:16, more than 15 minutes clear of his nearest rival. Dylan Richards took out the quad bike dominating the class with a time 5:09:38.7, more than 25 minutes ahead of second place. In all, over 100 riders took to the course over the two days, throwing up clouds of red dust as they sped through.
