Geraldton police rapid high harm offender response team make two arrests following pursuit in Spalding

A male and female have been arrested following an alleged police pursuit in Spalding on Tuesday. Police say Geraldton’s rapid high harm offender response team, and general officers, acted on a report of a stolen vehicle spotted in the Spalding area and engaged in pursuit, but the two occupants abandoned the vehicle in bushland and fled on foot. According to police, the pair were arrested nearby and have since been charged with multiple offences, including burglary, stealing, stealing a motor vehicle, reckless driving to evade police, no authority to drive, possession of a prohibited drug, and several other charges. Following their arrest, police say they conducted searches at properties linked to the alleged offenders, uncovering stolen property connected to recent burglaries. Bail was refused and both people were due to appear before Geraldton Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Police thanked the community for reporting suspicious activity and providing crucial CCTV footage. Police were photographed detaining a man at a bus stop on Bogle Way in Spalding on Tuesday morning. Police did not confirm whether the two incidents were the same.
