Geraldton’s Callum Salmon wins coach of the year award in the State’s premier soccer league

Head coach of the Perth Redstars, Geraldton-born Callum Salmon, was named the National Premier League’s coach of the year. The NPL is the second-highest league of soccer in the country, sitting behind the A-League, and features the highest competition at the State level. Salmon was awarded the Ron Tindall Coach of the Year award at the Football West awards night, and comes after a title-winning year for the Redstars. Along with winning the association award, Salmon was also voted as the coaches’ coach of the year, which is voted on by the coaches around the league. It recognised Salmon’s year and the success of his team to win the cup. Born in Geraldton, Salmon has been involved with senior coaching and junior development in soccer around Perth for many years now, even coaching Sam Kerr when she was coming up as a junior.
