Lester Smith takes out long-course win in second round of Revolutions Geraldton Club Championships

The second round of the Revolutions Geraldton Club Championships triathlon event brought cooler conditions for the athletes who tackled either the short, long or enticer courses. In the long course, the competitors had to tackle a 600m swim, 27km bike ride followed by a 5km run, which was won by Lester Smith, who cleared the competition in the men’s division. He was followed by Russell Browne and Shaun Dynan, while the women’s long course was won by Mischa Westlake who was trailed by Lisa Keefe. In the short course athletes take on a 300m swim, 17km bike ride then a 4km run. In the women’s division Petrina Wakelam beat Trish Sivyer and Judy Heylen in third. In the men’s short course, it was a neck-and-neck race to the end with Jordan O’Brien coming out on top over Andrew Blackburn to take the win in the final sprint. The shortest option was the enticer course, which Izac Ronan won in the men’s, beating out the competition in the 250m swim, 7km ride and 2km run, while Sandy Goodman got the win in the women’s.
