Mid West charities, not-for-profit and community organisations urged to apply for grants of up to $5000

Charities, not-for-profit and community organisations in the Mid West are invited to apply for the 2026 Warradarge Wind Farm Community Grants. Over the past six years, these grants have allocated more than $130,000 to 25 organisations in the Shires of Coorow, Carnamah and surrounding areas. With grants up to $5000 available, Bright Energy Investments general manager Tom Frood said the grants played a vital role in supporting a more inclusive, connected and sustainable future for the communities. “Bright Energy Investments are committed to supporting the local community around the Warradarge Wind Farm, and as part of our commitment we are proud to provide support through the program,” Mr Frood said. The Green Head Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade was a recipient in 2025 and used the grant to assist in purchasing an air compressor and installing a dedicated power supply. Green Head Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade captain Mitchell Pyke said the equipment would assist the volunteers and enhance their operational readiness. “It will save precious time for our team, ensuring rapid response capabilities in emergency situations,” he said. “We appreciate Bright Energy Investments commitment to strengthening community safety and resilience.” The Warradarge Wind Farm is a Bright Energy Investment facility located in the Shires of Coorow and Carnamah in the Mid West. Bright Energy Investments is a joint venture between major Australian renewables developer and operator Potentia Energy and Western Australian Government-owned Synergy. The wind farm is under expansion, with a second stage adding 30 wind turbine generations to boost overall capacity to 283MW. This would make the Warradarge Wind Farm the biggest of its kind in the South West Interconnected System (SWIS). Applications for the community grants close on May 11.
