Peter Clift won the Allen Marsh Handicap Singles played over the weekend at Geraldton Croquet Club to claim his fourth title in 15 years. Clift first won the event in 2007 and has continued to be one of the highest-ranked competitors over that time. Clift had to give extra shots to all competitors as he was the highest-ranked player in the competition. Despite this, he finished with just one loss to his name and plus three on net hoops to claim the win over runner-up Bob Imray. Each game was a challenge for the competitors, three of whom have been playing for less than a year — Mary Van De Wyngaard, Steve and Leeanne Robb. This event was the last for the season, with the next season’s competition program starting later in September.
