Police search for four suspects dressed in black who allegedly wounded victim during home burglary in Spalding
Police are searching for four suspects who allegedly committed a home burglary that resulted in unlawful wounding and animal abuse.
Police say about 1.15am on August 5, a 23-year-old Geraldton man was alone inside his home on Dawson Street, Spalding when a burglary occurred.
Officer-in-charge Sen. Sgt Chris Martin said the man reported the front door was kicked in and four suspects dressed in black clothing entered the property.
He alleges dogs at the property began barking and approached the suspects.
“A suspect kicked the dogs, they ran away and there was an altercation,” Sen. Sgt Martin said.
Police will allege one suspect had a knife in their possession.
“During the altercation, the victim received a small laceration to his index finger and the suspects were chased out of the house,” Sen. Sgt Martin said.
Police are investigating the incident and collecting evidence such as CCTV footage in the area to help identify the offenders.
Police say the alleged victim is uncooperative with the police investigation and no arrests have been made at the time of publication.
Over the weekend, Geraldton police attended 240 requests for assistance, filed 65 incident reports and held 26 people in custody from Friday to Monday morning.
