Films showcasing the oceans of countries including Australia, Italy and Canada will be displayed in Exmouth later this month as the Ocean Film Festival World Tour comes to town. The two-hour show will feature seven films, ranging from surfers exploring the frozen coastline of Kamchatka, Russia to an adventurer crossing the Bass Strait on a ring foil to an exploration of the importance of whales for the Djirringanj people of NSW. The festival’s founder, Jemima Robinson, said a passionate group of maritime lovers had reached out to her to put on a screening in town. “What we hope people take away from it is that they are inspired to love and protect our oceans, we hope to take them on a journey and show parts of the world and the ocean that they may not have seen and inspire them to protect what we all love so dearly,” Ms Robinson said. The festival will be at Ningaloo Centre on June 30 with doors opening at 6.30pm.
