While many spent their long weekend travelling, keen tennis fans hit the courts for the 99th instalment of the historic Geraldton Easter Open tennis tournament over March 29-31.

Josh Bowen took out the men’s singles win in division one for a second straight year.

Bowen swept the competition in his division, defeating Jarron Kretschman in the final.

History repeating didn’t stop there, as Bowen teamed up with sister Emma for the division one mixed doubles competition, where the reigning champion pair went on to win again this year.

The women’s division one singles produced a new champion, with Shelby Tranchita triumphing.

The men’s open doubles competition was won by Brad Crear and Curtis Tranchita, with Kester Sunkar/Shelby Tranchita not dropping a set on their way to taking the women’s doubles title.

Competition was fierce with the juniors, as James Ertzen grabbed the win in the under-12’s division, Clifton Bass was the under-14’s winner and the pairing of Kai Atkinson and Angus Kelly were the junior doubles champions.
