Shire of Exmouth invites volunteers and Community Citizen of the Year nominees to dinner at Yacht Club

The Shire of Exmouth is calling for volunteers to join a dinner party as a thankyou for their tireless work and ongoing contribution in the community. Volunteers and their families will join forces on Tuesday, December 5 at the Exmouth Yacht Club for a social gathering to celebrate the efforts of volunteers, including firefighters, marine rescue, SES and more. Hosted by the Shire of Exmouth, the Thank a Volunteer dinner especially acknowledges those who worked during the West Pilbara bushfires, and encourages everyone nominated in the Community Citizen of the Year awards to join the celebrations. Shire president Matt Niikkula said volunteers in the community gave their time to enhance the town’s social, cultural, economic and environmental well-being. “Exmouth’s Thank a Volunteer Day celebration will recognise the tireless work of our community’s volunteers and express our gratitude for their positive impact on our community,” he said. “Volunteers are the unsung heroes of Exmouth. Whether bravely fighting bushfires or consistently showing up to give time, talents, or money, our community is a better, safer place because of each of our volunteers. “Thank a Volunteer Day is a small token of our immense gratitude to each and every one of them.”
