Three Springs were challenged on Saturday, but not for the first time this season Clayton Bruce-Cherry proved the difference as his six-goal haul helped the Bombers to a third straight win.

Three Springs kicked seven goals to one in the second half to record a 12.12 (84) to 8.8 (56) win on the road.

With only one win to their name this season, the Bulldogs were not expected to be much of a challenge to the high-flying bombers but for three quarters they had their claws in the match.

They were only a point down at the first break and took the lead into the main break thanks to a five-goal second quarter.

Nicholas Sgambelluri was leading the way with three goals while Jack Mills was marshalling the defence well.

The Bombers hit back with four goals in the third quarter to take the lead though the Bulldogs will rue some missed chances returning only 1.4 for the quarter.

But even if they had been more efficient it wouldn’t have mattered as the Bulldogs had a scoreless final quarter.

Leedham Joseph Papertalk and Gus Heberle were impressive but it was Bruce-Cherry who stole the show once again, his six goals proving the difference and his third straight six-plus goal haul making it 21 goals in his past three games.

At Carnamah, the Roos cemented their position inside the top four with a big win against the last-placed Dongara Eagles 26.16 (172) to 3.5 (23).

The Roos had 11 scoring shots in the first quarter though managed just five goals but it was an indication of a long afternoon ahead for the Eagles who were kept to a single point.

Jack Stone led the way with seven goals as the Roos led by 72 points at half-time and kicked the last eight goals straight as the Eagles added no score in the fourth term.

Len Papertalk finished with five goals to keep up his impressive form with the Roos, who are now third on the ladder a game clear of Mingenew.

The result of the Coorow Latham Morawa clash was not available at the time of print.

In the Gascoyne the Ramblers women’s took the win 16.16 (112) to 6.6 (42) over the Warriors for their second win of the season.

The men gained revenge for their round five upset, 15.18 (108) to 5.5 (35), to get their first win of the season a far cry from their undefeated season last year.
