Tom Price man charged over rock throwing incident that left woman in her 50s with a fractured arm

A man who travelled to Carnarvon and allegedly used a slingshot to fire a large rock at a woman in her 50s, fracturing her arm, will face court next month. A 30-year-old man from Tom Price has been charged with being armed to cause fear and assault occasioning bodily harm over an incident in Greys Plain on Saturday, May 18. Carnarvon police officer in charge Sen. Sgt Paul Tolan said about 10pm, the 30-year-old visited the home of a woman in her 50s who was known to him and allegedly became aggressive towards her. Police allege the man aimed a large slingshot at the woman and made verbal threats, before firing a large rock at her. The rock hit the woman in the arm, fracturing a bone. She was treated in hospital. The 30-year-old man will face Carnarvon Magistrates Court on July 15. Sen. Sgt Tolan said Carnarvon police would not tolerate any kind of violence in the community, from locals or from visitors.
