Geraldton Triathlon Club members spotted more wildlife while racing earlier this month. Club spokesperson Jikki Van Amstel said one of nature’s best swimmers inspired the group at St Georges Beach to achieve better results — racers spotted a pod of dolphins swimming around at the event. Ms Van Amstel said junior athletes Fina Dethlefsen, 17, and Mathijs Travasso, 12, took the enticer race to the wire. “Fina had the fastest swim of the day, and maintained her lead on the bike, getting overtaken on the run within the last few hundred metres,” she said. A large sea turtle joined club members on the swim leg the weekend before.
