NSW records 345 new virus numbers and five deaths
Another 345 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in NSW.
There were also five deaths in the latest reporting period.
The new figures came from more than 76,000 tests and marked a slight dip on Thursday’s 372 case numbers.
The hospitalisation rate has also decreased from Thursday.
There are now 482 Covid patients in hospital, with 125 in intensive care – five of whom are on ventilators.
Earlier on Friday morning Qantas boss Alan Joyce and NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet revealed when the commercial carrier would be returning to the skies internationally.
Several routes are planned to start earlier than originally scheduled, with many kicking off in December – including flights to the Indian capital for the first time in a year.
