He will face court on July 29 after being charged with common assault and stalking.

7NEWS can also reveal that police have taken out an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) against Ahmed to protect his father.

It says Ahmed cannot “assault”, “stalk”, “harass”, or “contact” his dad.

He must also stay 100 metres away from where he lives and works.

It comes as the two brothers of Ahmed face criminal charges. They’re accused of threatening him over the phone and demanding he pays them each $100,000.

It’s alleged to have happened after a fundraiser created to support Ahmed raised $2.6 million.

Both brothers have pleaded not guilty.

7NEWS contacted the family on Thursday afternoon who declined to comment on the AVO or the charges.
