Local legend to be honoured
Ruth Rogers will be at home once again at Activewest Stadium tomorrow night, when the Buccs honour her legacy against the Mandurah Magic.
Spectators are encouraged to wear pink for the night when funds will be raised for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Ms Rogers was a life member of the Geraldton Basketball Association and devoted her time as a games controller and score table official for the Buccs.
She was also a referee, director, veterans player for the Hawks and played at the World Masters Games for a Geraldton team while battling cancer.
Tomorrow night’s fixture will mark one year since her passing. The Buccs named the score bench in her honour last year.
See today's print edition for a moving tribute from Marilyn Heberle and Jasmin Bowley.
