Secret Harbour local Storm Sanders and World No.1 Ash Barty have claimed the women’s doubles title at the Adelaide International.

The dynamic duo powered through to a convincing victory against Croatia’s Darija Jurak Schreiber and Slovenia’s Andreja Klepac, taking the title 6-1, 6-4.

Strong net work from Sanders saw another early break in the second set and the final game saw Barty serve two aces and an unreturnable serve to win the game in just 68 seconds.

After the match, Sanders praised her partner, who also won the Adelaide International singles title hours before, calling Barty an “unbelievable player and an even better mate”.

“It’s great to do this in front of so many fans. This is one of our favourite tournaments, so it’s a great feeling,” she said.

Both players will compete in the upcoming Australian Open, with Sanders recently receiving a wildcard for the singles draw.
