A junior soccer club that has been running for 45 years has received support from a solar salt company.

The Salt Junior Soccer Club, established in 1977, competes in the Karratha Junior Soccer Association and has welcomed support from Leichhardt Solar Salt for the upcoming season.

The club has 139 registered payers, who make up 15 teams over 12 age groups for the 2022 season.

Salt Junior Soccer Club president Renae Cork said the players would take pride in the shirts.

“Salt Junior Soccer Club is a really special grassroots community organisation that provides a valuable platform for emerging talent to not only feel at home and valued as part of the club but the opportunity to develop into representative players, referees and coaches,” she said.

Leichhardt chief executive Nathan Douglas said he was proud to support Salt Junior Soccer Club this season.

“We’re excited for the 2022 season and looking forward to seeing our name on the back of the shirts after a few goals have gone in,” he said. “Sporting groups that bring people together are integral to local communities, particularly in remote regional towns.”
