One horse escaped, and another was trapped inside a transportation float that flipped in a nasty road crash in Perth’s north east this morning.

Both vehicles involved ended up on their side at the busy intersection of The Promenade and Main Street in Ellenbrook, with images from the scene showing the horse carrier jack-knifed and also on its side.

Witnesses reported one horse escaped and was captured at a nearby shopping centre while another had to be sedated before being extricated from the float.

A major emergency response was called to the scene.

A 36-year-old passenger of a red MG was taken to Royal Perth Hospital. It is understood the driver of that car also sustained seatbelt injuries.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the vehicles in Ellenbrook should contact Crime Stoppers online or by calling 1800 333 000.
