Man taken to hospital after veering off Mitchell Freeway and crashing onto train tracks near Glendalough

A man has been taken to hospital after veering off a main Perth road and crashing onto train tracks.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 4.35am on Sunday after reports a blue Toyota Camry sedan had left the southbound lanes of Mitchell Freeway and crashed onto the train tracks near Glendalough train station.

Emergency services including St John Ambulance were in attendance, with a man in his 20s taken to Royal Perth Hospital for injuries that are not believed to be serious.

Main Roads WA and the Public Transport Authority were also at the scene to coordinate the safe removal of the vehicle from the tracks, with the sedan removed by 6.40am.

Police have not made any charges in relation to the incident and inquires remain ongoing.
