16-year-old allegedly indecently assaults former reality TV star Ellie Rolfe during morning walk in Wandina

A 16-year-old has faced court charged with groping former Bachelor reality TV star Ellie Rolfe during a morning walk in April, an allegation which she took to social media to express her shock. The boy made a brief appearance in Geraldton Children’s Court on Tuesday, where the matter was adjourned for section 19B papers. He is charged with unlawful and indecent assault and is yet to enter pleas. Last month, Rolfe posted about the alleged sexual assault to her Instagram account, telling her 27,500 followers that “it is never OK to inappropriately touch anyone without consent. Shocked!” The star claimed online that she had been on her morning walk in Wandina on Tuesday, April 30, when a boy approached her riding a bike and said “hey”. “Then he followed me around the block twice and circled back and rode up behind me and fully groped my ass,” Rolfe wrote. “It knocked my phone out of my hand ‘cos it gave me such a fright and I looked up and he just zoomed off on his bike!” Rolfe said the alleged assault left her frightened and with “no words” to respond to the incident. “How is that OK in your head! “Huge mental health advocate and you never know what someone is going through but this is just utter disrespect and scary! “Not even safe on a bloody morning walk in broad daylight,” she posted. Rolfe, who was the final woman picked by one of three bachelors in last year’s season, called for greater awareness and an end to feeling ashamed about sharing experiences. “I don’t want to be sexist but we also need to educate our young boys so they grow into men who know how wrong this behaviour is, and how detrimental it can be,” she posted. The 16-year-old will next appear in Geraldton Children’s Court on Tuesday, July 30. The teenager’s bail was extended on its current terms.
