Geraldton detectives investigate shots fired in Sunset Beach after homemade gun found near Nyrang Road

Geraldton detectives are investigating what is believed to be a drug-related incident where a homemade firearm was fired at a vehicle in Sunset Beach early Saturday morning. WA Police allege at about 6.30am on Saturday, May 13 a man discharged a homemade firearm at a vehicle with several occupants inside on Nyrang Road in Sunset Beach. Police believe the suspect and occupants of the vehicle are known to each other. Geraldton detectives located a homemade firearm in the area of the incident and are currently seeking the man. No description of the suspect is available but detectives ask anyone with CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage on Nyrang Road and Guara Drive between 4am-7am to contact police or upload the vision anonymously on Crime Stoppers.
