Geraldton police seek footage from Mahomets Flats area following weekend crime spree

Police are seeking public assistance following a series of burglaries in a coastal suburb of Geraldton at the weekend. Residents in the suburb of Mahomets Flats are being asked to check their CCTV cameras for suspicious activity in the early morning of Saturday and Sunday. Police say a number of vehicles and homes were targeted in the spree. Acting OIC Sen. Sgt Stuart Gerreyn said a 19-year-old could be responsible for the break-ins. “A 19-year-old male has been charged with two burglaries from these incidents but we are seeking further information from the public to potentially link him to other offences in the area during this period,” he said. In one of the burglaries, police allege the 19-year-old stole a Visa gift card. He is accused of stealing a digital photo frame and jewellery from the second house.
