Member for Durack Melissa Price encourages local government organisations to apply for Growing Regions Program

Applications are open for the second round of grant funding through the Growing Regions Program, providing organisations with the opportunity to improve infrastructure in their local community. The Federal Government’s Growing Regions Program provides funding between $500,000 and $15 million to local government entities and incorporated not-for-profit organisations for capital works projects. Federal member for Durack Melissa Price encouraged eligible organisations in the region to apply to help contribute to the vibrancy of their local community. “The importance of infrastructure funding in my electorate of Durack cannot be understated,” she said. “Hopefully this new funding round is delivered in a timelier fashion than round one of Growing Regions, where, unfortunately, the payments are still in limbo.” The funding program replaced the Coalition Government’s Building Better Regions Fund, which Ms Price said had committed $1.38 billion across nearly 1300 projects. Successful projects will involve construction or upgrading of community infrastructure with a focus on improving liveability, accessibility and connectedness in the area.
