Moresby’s Maybella Brown was planning a Melbourne holiday with her mum and younger sister early in 2019.

They’re still going, but the cost of Maybella’s trip is now cover- ed.

She’s been selected to represent WA in the national Red Energy Australian Made Foundation Cup, a part of the Australian Made Summer of Tennis.

The Red Energy Australian Made Foundation Cup gives children 13 years and under from rural and regional Australia the opportunity to compete nationally during the 2019 Australian Open.

Maybella, a student at Nagle Catholic College, is one of four finalists from WA and will get to play at Kooyong, the home of tennis in Melbourne before the Rod Laver arena was built.

There will be 28 youngsters from all States and Territories playing at the tournament, January 14-17.

The best and fairest male and female players will each receive a $1000 cheque and the top State- based team from the four-day tournament will be awarded the Red Energy Australian Made Foundation Cup.
