Police arrest Geraldton man for indecent acts at Northgate Shopping Centre

Police have charged a Geraldton man with performing indecent acts in public after two separate complaints from women at a local shopping centre. On Monday, April 4, between 8.40am and 9.45am, a 34-year old Spalding man was allegedly caught performing indecent acts in several locations around Northgate Shopping Centre. It is alleged one complaint came from a woman employed at the shopping centre who said the man followed her throughout the shop playing with his genitals. Police said the complainant said the man stood outside the shop when she went to work and continued the act. A separate complaint was made by another woman who witnessed a similar act the week prior. Sen. Sgt Stuart Gerreyn said the women were in their early 30s or 40s and the man arrested was a Geraldton local known to police. The investigation is still ongoing and police urge anyone with information relating to this matter to contact the Geraldton Police on 9923 4555 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. The man is due to appear in Geraldton Magistrates Court on April 29.
