School holiday activities in January hosted by Headspace, PCYC, F45 and the City of Greater Geraldton

For students who would like to try their hand at calligraphy, fishing, sports, fitness or music — there are plenty of school holiday programs available to finish up the break in style in Geraldton. Sundays by the Sea will return to the foreshore, packed full of live music from local musicians. So come along and join the fun on Sunday, January 15 from 4.30pm. F45 is offering a free prodigy school holiday program starting on Monday, January 16 and finishing on January 25. The program offers fitness classes for 11-17-year-olds from 10.15-11am. The PCYC are offering lots of fun programs before the end of the month, including ping pong, pool and pizza, and beach cricket. Headspace have their own holiday program with fishing lessons, sailing and African drumming to master. Mayor Shane Van Styn said there were limited spaces left in the school holiday program and it continued to be a popular pastime during the summer break, enhancing the lives of families in Geraldton. “The school holiday program is always popular, and January is no exception. While many City-run events are booked out, there are still spaces available in the remaining soccer clinics and wheelchair basketball sessions,” he said. “The Foreshore Scavenger Hunt, Learn to be a Digital Superstar and Sketchy Business also have limited spots available.” Activities GSAC and PCYC Table Tennis Tournament at Rocks Laneway. Head down to the Aquarena for lunch with a swim with PCYC’s Pool and Pizza on Tuesday, January 17 from 1-4pm. Northern Addicts Fishing afternoon at gravel car park at the end of Forrest Street Tuesday, January 17 from 5-7pm. African Drumming circle at Headspace’s back garden Thursday, January 19 from 10am-12pm. Head over to Midalia Beach for a barbeque and beach cricket on Thursday, January 19 and 26 from 4-7pm. Arts and Crafternoon at headspace Wednesday, January 25 from 1-4pm. Try sailing the Batavia at the Marina 9am Friday, January 27 — weather permitting. City-run events Calligraphy workshops run all day Friday, January 13 from 9-11am and 1-3pm. Soccer Clinic will keep you active while teaching you basic skills every Monday and Wednesday in January from 9-10am. Wheelchair basketball is sure to be something different with friends every Tuesday in January from 9.30-11am. Those keen to keep safe in the digital realm can join the Learn to be a Digital Superstar course Tuesday, January 17 at 10-11.30am. A scavenger hunt will take place on the foreshore for aspiring detectives on Thursday, January 19 from 9.30-11.30am.
