Shark alert after dead whale found near Dongara
A shark advice has been issued near Dongara due to a whale carcass reported 500 metres offshore of White Point Reef.
The carcass was reported by a member of the public after 3pm today and is 350 metres south east of White Point.
Authorities have warned the carcass would act as an attractant to sharks.
Beach users are being warned to take caution in the area and keep up to date with the SharkSmart website and Surf Life Saving WA’s Twitter feed.
Fisheries and Parks and Wildlife officers are monitoring the situation.
