Vehicle stop leads to cannabis find

A South Carnarvon man was charged after West Pilbara detectives allegedly found more than one kilogram of cannabis in a suitcase at accommodation in Karratha.

Detectives said they received information which led to a vehicle stop about 8.25am yesterday on Bayley Avenue in Karratha.

A man and woman in the vehicle were arrested and a search warrant was then executed at accommodation in Karratha where officers allege they located a suitcase containing the of cannabis.

The 47-year-old South Carnarvon man was charged with possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply.

He was due to appear at Karratha Magistrates Court yesterday
