Buckingham Palace has issued a bombshell statement, confirming King Charles ‘stands ready’ to support a police investigation into his brother, former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The statement, released late on Sunday night, comes as Thames Valley Police were assessing their evolving situation to determine if they had grounds to move in and investigate Andrew.

“The King has made clear, in words and through unprecedented actions, his profound concern at allegations which continue to come to light in respect of Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct,” a Palace spokesman said.

“While the specific claims in question are for Mr Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if we are approached by Thames Valley Police we stand ready to support them as you would expect,” he said.

Multiple complaints have been made about Andrew as the latest batch of Epstein files spark concern over the former royals behaviour and actions.

Thames Valley Police are currently acting on a complaint made by anti-monarchy group Republic, who reported Andrew over suspected misconduct and breaching of official secrets.

Just a week ago, police confirmed they were investigation allegations relating to Andrew regarding a woman being taken to a property in Windsor.

The statement from the King comes as other royals continue to distance themselves from the disgraced former prince.

Prince William and Princess Kate said over the weekend that they are “deeply concerned” by the revelations in files over the late ‌sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, making their ‍first statement on the issue.

“I can confirm The Prince and ‌Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing ‍revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims,” a spokesperson for Kensington Palace said.

The statement was released ahead of William’s three-day trip to Saudi Arabia, which began on Monday.

The British monarchy’s response to the escalating crisis surrounding Andrew has intensified.

The former prince was last year stripped of his royal titles after previous revelations about his relationship with Epstein.

The King last week forced Andrew to leave his longtime home at Royal Lodge near Windsor Castle, accelerating a move that was first announced in October but wasn’t expected to be completed until later this year.

Andrew is now living on the King’s Sandringham estate in eastern England. He will live temporarily at Wood Farm Cottage while his permanent home on the estate undergoes repairs.

Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in his relationship with Epstein.
