Uber passenger goes viral after claiming driver refused him for being ‘too large’ to ride

An Uber passenger has gone viral after claiming his driver refused him a ride for being “too large” before allegedly threatening to pull a gun.

The rider, Michael, who goes by the handle @FattyMcFatFuh on X, shared footage of the confrontation on October 20, saying: “I’m not even kidding you, my Uber driver said I’m too fat for her to drive me, then she said she was gunna pull a gun on me WTF.”

In the now-viral clip, which has clocked more than 12.7 million views, the woman behind the wheel can be heard saying: “No, you’re not recording me right now.”

“I’m gonna record you, you just said I’m too large for your car,” Michael replies.

The driver insists, “This is a matter of logic and rationale, and I have a right to say that”, before being cut off.

‘No, you don’t,’ he said.

‘Yeah, I do, it’s my car.’ When he insisted that he would fit in the car, she held her hand up and said: ‘It’s my vehicle, go away!’

The comment led to a fiery exchange between the two.

‘Deada.., you f..king b..ch?’ Michael asked. ‘F..k you, are you deada..?’

Moments later, as tensions escalate, she adds: “You want me to pull my gun on you?” The Twitch streamer quickly shuts the door and walks away.

People have reported that the video has ignited fierce debate over body discrimination and the safety of rideshare passengers, with some users calling for Uber to respond and others questioning what led up to the encounter. The company has not yet commented publicly.

Uber’s non-discrimination policy states the platform prohibits bias based on “race, ethnicity, skin colour, age, disability, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, language, geographical location, or any other characteristic protected under relevant law.”

The company adds: “We believe that everyone should feel supported and welcomed when interacting with others in the Uber community.”

The viral dispute comes months after a similar lawsuit against Uber’s rival Lyft.

In January, a plus-sized rapper slapped Lyft with a lawsuit after her driver refused to pick her up due to her size.

Dank Demoss, 36, real name Dajua Blanding, filmed her interaction with the Lyft driver in a similar fashion to Michael.

‘I can fit in this car,’ said Demoss, who weighs over 500lbs.

‘Believe me, you can’t,’ the driver responded.

The lawsuit was settled in September. It is unclear what she got in the settlement.

As for Michael’s viral ride request gone wrong, Uber’s silence has only added fuel to the online storm.
