Perth peak-hour traffic gridlock after two separate crashes on Tonkin Highway

A number of crashes across Perth have caused peak hour chaos on the roads.

There are delays on on Tonkin Highway in Cloverdale after a crash. The crash happened early on Monday morning, with the left lane of the highway northbound after Leach Highway being closed.

Emergency services are on the scene and while vehicles remain in the left emergency lane, the highway has largely been cleared but traffic is heavy.

Motorists are advised to take alternative routes if possible.

A separate crash on Tonkin Highway southbound, after Hepburn Avenue in Ballajura, has reduced traffic to a single lane. Main Roads said traffic is heavy on approach.

Elsewhere, a crash on the Kwinana Freeway southbound at Mill Point Road, South Perth, has caused heavy traffic back to Hay Street.

And a breakdown on Canning Highway northbound at Henley Street, Como, has also created headaches for motorists. The left lane had been closed by Incident Response, Main Roads said.
