A Coolbellup woman who allegedly evaded police in East Fremantle before being found by the police canine unit is facing a string of charges.

The 29-year-old woman has been charged for failing to stop for police, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and driving on a suspended licence.

It is alleged she failed to stop for police while driving a red Mitsubishi Outlander Sedan at about 10.30pm on Stirling Highway in East Fremantle.

She allegedly drove away at speed, driving through several streets towards Fremantle, before abandoning the vehicle and continuing on foot.

A police canine unit located the woman in the yard of a neighbouring property where she was arrested.

The woman was refused bail and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday.
