A young man was killed and another critically injured in a devastating car rollover south-east of Perth on Saturday.

The pair, aged 20 and 21, were travelling in a green Toyota LandCruiser north on Soldiers Road in Byford when police believe the car rolled near the Turner Road intersection about 4am.

The men were ejected from the vehicle as it rolled, killing the 20-year-old and leaving the other fighting for his life.
