Motorist on multiple charges

A motorist charged with speeding and drink driving near Dongara was allegedly put off the road three days earlier for drink driving.
The 26-year-old Haynes man was pulled over about 11.20pm on Friday on Brand Highway, Arrowsmith, after his Mitsubishi Colt was allegedly clocked at 127 km/h in a 110 km zone.
He also allegedly tested positive to alcohol on a breath test and later gave a reading of 0.082.
Dongara police also did a licence check and allegedly found the man’s licence had been suspended three days earlier for a drink driving offence.
He was charged with driving while disqualified, exceeding the speed limit and driving with a blood alcohol reading in excess of 0.08.
He was also issued with a surrender notice to have his car impounded for 28 days.
