Police have released the name of a man who died while surfing at Kalbarri earlier this month.

He was Leslie John Norrish, 66, of Kalbarri.

Police said surfers rushed to Mr Norrish's aid when he collapsed at Jakes Point, about 6.30am on November 18.

He was pulled to shore be could not be revived.

Family have been notified and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

Mr Norrish's death was the third at a beach or nature reserve in the Kalbarri area in the past month.
