About 7.10pm, the white Holden Commodore she was driving along Tonkin Highway in Maddington left the road and crashed into a tree.

The driver, believed to be a 20-year-old woman, died at the scene from the injuries she received.

The Commodore ignited after the impact.

Members of the public tried to extinguish the blaze but were unable to do so due to the intensity of the flames.
