Adelaide star Izak Rankine is set for a stint on the sidelines after scans confirmed a "moderate" calf strain.
But there is better news for teammate Callum Ah Chee, who has been cleared of a fractured hand.
Both players face further assessment before the Crows can put a timeline on their return.
"Both Cal and Izak will be assessed further at the club in the coming days," Crows high-performance manager Ian McKeown said.
"Following that, we will have a clearer understanding of timelines for both."
The injuries, plus Riley Thilthorpe's one-match ban for a gut punch, compounded Adelaide's woes after a bruising nine-point defeat to Hawthorn in Launceston on Thursday night.
The Crows (6-5) sit eighth on the ladder ahead of their mid-season bye, which is followed by a bumper home clash with Geelong on June 4.
Taylor Walker, left in the SANFL this week, is the obvious replacement for Thilthorpe, who has also been dealing with a back injury.
