Jeffrey Hagan is going to redo his deck and spoil his new grandchild after walking away with $10,000 for winning the The Game’s ‘early bird’ prize, thanks to Thirsty Camel.

The Lakelands resident has been a regular tipper through WA’s premier competition, which has a whopping $50,000 up for grabs for the season’s top tipper, courtesy of TABtouch.

There’s also a cool $1000 on offer every round for the week’s best performer, thanks to Thirsty Camel, while a Mazda BT-50 SP valued at $73,000 is up for grabs, with the winner to be drawn at random at year’s end.

Hagan said the early bird prize was the first of its kind he’d ever won and doesn’t expect to compete for the $50,000.

Instead, he’ll put most of his concentration into figuring out what to do with his cool $10,000.

“I need to replace my deck out the back, and my eldest has just had my first grandchild and they’re building a house, so I might help them out if they need a hand,” Hagan said.

“I am probably going to look at building a deck and treat ourselves. Something for me and my wife.”

Hagan said he’d been tipping with The Game for the past four years.

“I just try to tip the form. I don’t do the best at it, but I think I am doing a little bit better,” he said.

“With my tipping, the chances (of winning the $50,000) are pretty slim. But we’re going to be giving it our best shot and see how we go.

“You’ve got to be in it to win it, like we did with the early bird prize.”
