The Tasmania JackJumpers have signed an American guard with NBA experience as they look to fill the big shoes of import Josh Adams.

The club on Friday announced 28-year-old Milton Doyle had signed a one-year contract for the 2022/23 NBL competition.

Tasmania made a stunning run to the grand final series in their debut season off the back of Adams, who has parted ways with the franchise.

Doyle played 10 NBA games with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2017/18 season, when he was signed with the Long Island Nets NBA G League affiliate squad.

"Milton is a versatile guard, an impressive shooter and high-level defender, and we're really pleased to be able to bring him to the NBL for the first time," JackJumpers CEO Simon Brookhouse said.

"Obviously his experience at the highest level speaks to his potential."

Doyle has played in major leagues in Spain and Italy and is the starting shooting guard for Gaziantep Basketbol in the Turkish Basketball Super League.

He averaged 17.5 points, 5.8 assists, 4.1 rebounds and two steals per game during the 2019/20 G League season, playing for Chicago Bulls affiliate Windy City Bulls.

The JackJumpers have filled their three import spots with American guard Josh Magette re-signing earlier this month and 26-year-old US forward Rashard Kelly joining the team.

Doyle completes Tasmania's main roster, ahead of development trials in August.

Adams was the JackJumpers' MVP last season after spearheading a surge to the top four.

The franchise went down 3-0 to the Sydney Kings in the best-of-five grand final series.
