Channel Seven has announced they will air a brand new documentary celebrating the life and career of cricket legend Shane Warne following the icon’s sudden death.

The hour-long special event will premiere on Seven next Wednesday, March 23 on Seven and 7Plus.

The TV event will showcases the highs and lows of Australia’s most famous cricketer, who built an extraordinary career both on and off the pitch, and whose untimely death at the age of 52 stunned the world earlier this month.

Warne’s teammates, friends and fans will share their favourite stories and detail the never say die attitude that changed the game of cricket forever.

Glenn McGrath, Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Mel McLaughlin, Magda Szubanski, and Danni Minogue have been named as some of the famous faces set to appear in Warnie.

The cricket legend passed away earlier this month after a heart attack in Thailand. Warne was staying in a private villa with three friends, including one who performed CPR after finding him unresponsive when he did not show up for dinner.

A State memorial service honouring Warne will be held at the MCG on March 30 after he is laid to rest in a private funeral later this week.

Warne’s former wife Simone Callahan gathered with her children at the leg-spin great’s MCG statue earlier this week.

Ms Callahan and the couple’s three children, Brooke, 24, Jackson, 23 and Summer, 20, posed for a picture under the statue, which is located outside Gate 2 at the massive stadium.
