Norseman Truckstop offering 10 cents a litre off fuel to Dockers fans on one simple condition

A servo in one WA town is getting in the purple spirit ahead of the AFL grand final by offering Freo fans money off at the bowser.

From today until October 4, Dockers fans will be able to get 10¢ off every litre of fuel at the BP Norseman Roadhouse on the Eyre Highway — as long as they turn up in Freo colours.

Whether wearing official Dockers merch or decking out your car decked in purple, fans travelling through – or from – the southern WA town will be able to take advantage of the offer.

The Norseman Truckstop, owned by WA company The Prendiville Group, says it wants to “do its bit:” for any diehard supporters making the mammoth journey across the Nullarbor to Melbourne.

“Being a Dockers supporter has never been for the faint-hearted,” a Prendiville Group spokesperson said.

“For 32 years, the Purple Army has ridden every high and low, and 13 years on from our first grand final, they’re still as loyal and passionate as ever.

“There’ll be fans driving thousands of kilometres across the Nullarbor just to be there, and we think that kind of commitment deserves to be rewarded.

“Fremantle is a huge part of who we are as a business, so this is our way of getting behind the Purple Army and helping them on their way.

“It might only be one stop on a very long road trip but hopefully it makes the journey a little sweeter.

“Now we just need the boys to bring it home.”

One group of diehard Dockers supporters will certainly be taking up the offer, completing the ultimate 3000km road trip across the Nullarbor to watch their team vie for the premiership.

On Monday, a fully decked-out purple sleeper bus dubbed The Longmuir Coach filled with 10 ultimate fans rolled out of Fremantle to begin the massive interstate journey.

They are some of the several thousand fans flocking to the MCG for Saturday’s blockbuster, where the Fremantle Dockers will look to grab their maiden flag against two-time reigning premiers Brisbane.
