Timmy Tesla powered back into the winner’s circle with a drought-breaking victory in the Sires On Ice (WA) Free To All (488m) at TABtouch Park Mandurah last Friday night.
The speedy white-and-blue chaser from Lewis Clay’s kennels showed the early toe for which he is renowned but had been missing in recent performances when he burst to the front from box two when the lids flipped open.
Timmy Tesla skipped away to a five-length margin in the back straight to all but secure the race before they hit the corner.
He conceded ground in the run home but Timmy Tesla was never going to be caught and crossed the finish line two lengths ahead of the runner-up Aston Walker in 27.46.
The result snapped an 11-race winless sequence, which extended back to September last year, for Timmy Tesla.
Timmy Tesla improved his record to 13 wins from 64 starts for more than $111,000 in stakes.
