Big Bash League: Everything you need to know as Perth Scorchers chase a record sixth title

When and where is it?
After overcoming the Sydney Sixers on Tuesday, the Scorchers earned the right to host the Big Bash final for a record sixth time in franchise history.
The game will be played on Sunday at Optus Stadium, with gates opening at 2.45pm ahead of the first ball at 4.15pm.
When do tickets go on sale?
Subscribers to Optus Stadium and members will have access to pre-sale tickets through Ticketmaster from 10am Wednesday.
General public tickets will go on sale from 12pm the same day with the game expected to be a sellout.

Who will the Scorchers play?
Perth Scorchers’ finals opponent will not be known until after the Challenger Final on Friday evening.
Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars will battle it out in the Knockout on Wednesday, in which the Hurricanes are favoured to win at their home ground.
The winner of the Knockout will progress to face the Sydney Sixers on Friday in Sydney.
The winner of that game will then make the cross-country flight to face the Scorchers, hence why securing a home final was so crucial for the Scorchers to avoid travel.
What about travel?
Every Big Bash finals ticket includes transport on all Transperth services for three hours before and after the game, with station parking free on weekends.
There will also be special event express trains running along the Yanchep and Fremantle lines, while extra bus services will be departing from the Stadium, while Red CAT services will also extend to Matagarup Bridge.

What’s the forecast?
After the scorching conditions on Tuesday evening, a cooler change is expected for Sunday’s final, with cloudy conditions and a forecast high of just 25 degrees.
There is also a medium chance for light showers of at least 1mm but nothing that should affect the final.
In the highly unlikely event the game is washed out, the Scorchers would be awarded the title courtesy of winning the Qualifier.
What is the Scorchers’ finals record?
This will be the ninth time Perth have made it to the big dance in the Big Bash, and it will be the second time Optus has hosted the decider.
The last Big Bash final at Optus saw Cooper Connolly announce himself with a stunning innings to score a five-wicket win over the Brisbane Heat.
Overall, the five previous times Perth have hosted the decider, the Scorchers have won three, while their overall record in Big Bash finals is 5-3, with their last loss coming in 2021 against the Sydney Sixers.

Where can I watch or follow it?
For those unable to get to the ground, every ball of the Big Bash final will be broadcast live and free on the main Seven channel and 7plus.
The West Australian will be running a live blog to cover all the action from before, during and after the game.
