Perth Scorchers sweat on availability of Mitch Marsh, Josh Inglis and Colin Munro as new BBL fixture unveiled

Perth Scorchers are sweating on the availability of three key batters ahead of their final regular season fixture after it was brought forward by two days. The table-topping Scorchers will be without Mitch Marsh, Josh Inglis and Colin Munro for tomorrow morning’s penultimate game against Adelaide Strikers, but are hopeful of having them available to face Brisbane Heat next Monday. The clash with the Heat has been brought forward from next Wednesday to Monday and switched from the Gabba to Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, as part of a re-jigged Big Bash League schedule for the remainder of the season. Perth are hopeful Marsh and Inglis will be released from the Test squad after the start of Friday’s fifth Test in Hobart, while Munro has been isolating after testing positive to COVID-19. A Cricket Australia spokesman said release dates for Test squad members back to their BBL clubs had not been finalised. If the Scorchers don’t have Marsh, Inglis and Munro available for the Heat game, it will mean having to change half of their top-six ahead of their opening final.
