Controversial Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios joked that he’s not hungry for more Grand Slam finals, admitting he’s exhausted after losing his Wimbledon final to Novak Djokovic.

After throwing a number of tantrums on the court in the four-set defeat, including arguing with the chair umpire about a fan in the crowd who he accused of having “700 drinks”, Kyrgios cut a composed figure as he received the runner-up trophy.

Moments after the defeat, Kyrgios was humble by the loss, showcasing both sides of his sometimes versatile personality.

“He’s a bit of a god, I’m not going to lie. I thought I played well,” Kyrgios said.

“Obviously to the ball kids, umpires (thank you). I know me and you (the umpire) have a very tough relationship at times but I’m very grateful for putting up with it.

“And the crowd, it’s been an amazing couple of weeks for me.”

Asked though if he was hungry to make another Grand Slam final in the near future, Kyrgios was emphatic in his response.

“Absolutely not. I’m so tired,” Kyrgios said.

“Myself, my team, I think we’re all exhausted. We’ve played so much tennis.

“I definitely need a well-earned vacation after this one. I’m just really happy with this result, probably the best of my career. Hopefully, maybe one day I’ll be back here. But I don’t know about that.”

Just hours earlier, Kyrgios was in a heated argument with the chair umpire when a rowdy fan kept interrupting him during his serve in the third set.

“It’s the one who looks like she’s had about 700 drinks bro,” Kyrgios could be heard saying to the chair umpire after holding a vital service game despite being distracted by a fan.

“She’s distracting me when I’m serving in a Wimbledon final. There’s no other bigger occasion, you didn’t believe me and then she did it again and nearly cost me the game.

“Why is she still here? She’s drunk out of her mind in the first row, speaking to me in the middle of a game. What’s acceptable?”

Kyrgios is set to appear in court next month after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend Chiara Passari late last year.

“Obviously, I have a lot of thoughts, a lot of things I want to say, kind of my side about it,” Kyrgios said after his quarter-final win earlier in the week.

“Obviously, I’ve been advised by my lawyers that I’m unable to say anything at this time.

“Look, I understand everyone wants to kind of ask about it and all that, but I can’t give you too much on that right now.”
